Sehr umfangreich und originell July 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Das Buch ist eine Fundgrube von Ideen, wie man Socken mit verschiedensten Abnahmen machen kann. Die Anleitungen sind sehr gut erklaert und natuerlich kann man sie mit Rundnadeln stricken!

Cat Bordhi comes up with answers to questions I didn't even think to ask! As always, her writing is clear and very readable. I almost feel she is having a conversation with me. The first chapter has a lot of beginner sock-knitting tutorials that I skipped over...but then went back and took a closer look when I was showing the book to someone that hasn't knitted for a long time. They are very well done. Then she goes into the patterns, which are all interesting and informative. The last two chapters (10 and 11) teach you how to use her concepts as a starting point for your own creativity. 11 also shows various top-down and toe-up techniques for toes, cuffs, and bind-offs.
The World of Socks June 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cat's mind works in quirky and wonderful ways, and this book brings new challenges to knitters of all levels. I have not yet worked on all that new "Sockitecture," because I have been involved in other recent knitting projects with deadlines. However, I have scanned the book and know I will enjoy it. The instructions and illustrations are very clear and interesting.
Cat has worked long and hard on this book, but it is very difficult to get all the kinks out of knitting instructions. This is the second printing, and I found a page of errata on the Internet and checked against the book. Not all errors have been corrected. However, from what I saw, I don't think this would pose a real problem for most knitters. However, the book should come with a page of errata enclosed.
Great Book by Cat Bordhi May 10, 2008 "New Pathways for Sock Knitters" is probably not for someone who has never knitted a pair of socks, but what a fabulous book for anyone who has! DO make the little trial socks to get the concepts. I've taught folks to knit for a long time and Cat has come up with some fabulous ideas to take you away from the same old boring process of making socks!
Fun book, a great way to knit socks April 27, 2008 I have only done the practice socks so far, but I think the instructions are great. They are quite specific and I haven't had any trouble with them. There are many projects I intend to make, usually a book only has one or two things I'm interested in. I have one of her other books that is good also. I love the creativity, and feel that it will be easy to adapt the patterns however I want, which she encourges.
