Product Description
Quilling—also known as paper filigree or scroll work—is the art of rolling very thin strips of paper into elegant shapes, turning them into beautiful designs, and then gluing them onto a base for display. This new guide from the prolific Marie Browning presents a range of techniques, both traditional and new, that will delight and intrigue crafters. In addition to offering 28 unique shapes, it introduces some contemporary quilling possibilities such as husking, fringing, crimping and sculpting. Even beginners will enjoy creating simple but very attractive greeting cards and measuring their progress on more involved projects, including home decor items (like a Wedding Tin and Framed Botanicals) and beautiful jewelry.

Is it Quilling or Using Punches? July 15, 2008 I was so excited to get this book because I love Quilling.......I found that there was way too many pages using punches instead of quilling. When I buy a Quilling book, I expect it to be all Quilling.
Great Ideas July 2, 2008 There a lot of great ideas in this book. I recommended to all Quillers and Scrappers a like.
The only negative thing there is a "spiral flower rubber stamp" technique but I can not find it anywhere on the net. I would love to do this. I even thought of making a foam stamp similar to this but I don't quite have the confidence to do so.
Great Book! May 20, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I received this book in the mail last week and have already "dug in". I have several quilling books and was wary about ordering it for fear it would be the "same ol' thing"...but it isn't! The designs are different, and if you enjoy making cards and/or scrapbooking as well as quilling, this is the book for you! There are several husking projects which include bees, frogs, dragonflies and ladybugs. The graphics are great and the instructions are easy to follow. A definite plus to your library for anyone interested in quilling!
Paper Quilling April 21, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have a collection of quilling books, but by far think this one of the best. The directions are easy to follow and the graphics are beautiful and easy to adapt into any project from beginner to advanced. I have shared this book with my card making club and everyone was delighted with it and some plan on placing order. For the card makers and anyone who enjoys paper crafts this is a must have.
WOW is all I can say, love it. March 26, 2008 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
All I can say is WOW! I have numerous quilling books and love them all but this one(New Concepts in Paper Quilling: Techniques for Cards & Gifts by Marie Browning)just made me stop in my tracks. The designs are simple but very elegant or cute depending on the design. It's one of the few times that I actually started from the beginning of the book and read what was written. Since I have been quilling off and on since the 1970's I don't usually read first I just go and quill. I ordered this book on pre-order and received it last week so I haven't quilled anything yet but boy will I be busy. I love all the designs and the flowers made from the Bloomer stamps - just a little different way of doing things. I will be looking for more books from Marie Browning in the future.
