So helpful!! June 5, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
After deciding to try out felting, I spent an enormous amount of time on Amazon trying to pick the "right" book for me. I feel confident I found it! I'm not the most creative person and, while I like the idea of doing things myself, I often find the process a little daunting. This book is written in a way that made sense to me while still challenging my skills. I've made so many great projects already and couldn't be prouder of myself. Highly recommended!
Extremely Helpful and Different Projects May 28, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book does exactly what it promises to do. It gives good introduction to needle felting so that anyone could get started, but my favorite parts were the projects. The authors are obviously creative, imaginative people who want to encourage the same in others. The projects are a little bit different from what one might expect from such a book -- MUCH more style than others.
Great book!
A simple craft April 23, 2008 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Needle felting is not a craft I have taken up but the things I see made from it are beautiful. NEEDLE FELTING has projects from pincushions to photos frames to pillows to notepad covers and, of course, quilts and wall hangings.
Working with a felting needle, a foam work surface, background fabric and the wool or cotton yarn, flowers, stems, leaves or any other shape you want can be created. The first chapter contains the instructions on how to create the felting and the materials needed to do so.
There are nine projects and each begins with a full color photo of the finished item. A list of materials and the finished size are found next. Then step-by-step instructions follow and are written in an easy to understand manner. Templates are provided if needed for the project.
There is a resource list in case you have trouble locating some of the items needed to do needle felting. Plus, there is a page each about the authors.
