Book Description The authors are building a web site that will add an interactive element to this project, allowing readers to post their "answers" to each of the dares in the book. Scrapbookers are always looking for ways to push their art, and participating in challenges is one great way to do that. The most popular and inspiring challenges are the "dares" that the authors of this book post on their blog and on Two Peas in a Bucket. These dares explore more than just trendy new materials, they get to the heart of the participants with challenges that really make them think--about what makes them happy or proud or filled with regret. In this book, the authors will develop new dares (only a handful of the dares will have appeared before: two are the most compelling from online and six are online favorites that have been given new spins). Each dare will be answered by at least three of the twelve participating artists and will include a story behind the page so that readers can learn how the pages relate to the dare.

More Art Journal Than Scrapbook May 19, 2008 Unlike the usual scrapbook stuff, this book shows designs that are more edgy and wild.Contributors show their work on different issues like their fears, anger and etc.It reminds me more of someone's art journal than normal scrapbooking.I do find the pages inspiring and hope to re-create some of those ideas into my art journal. If you are looking for ideas on how to journal in a more artistic way,you might want to look at this one.
not what I had hoped March 20, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is very well put together but not exactly what I had hoped. I was looking for more scrap challenges like layouts and such and this was more about the pictures and showing emotions. I think it would be very good if that was your intent but it just wasn't mine.
Not for everyone. February 3, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have been scrapbooking for over a decade, and it's fun to see the new turn that the hobby has taken. As it appeals to a wider audience of people, we'll continue to see more diversity and differences in style... and that's a good thing.
That said, this book is not for everyone -- and it is not for me.
I consider myself an out-of-the-box scrapbooker, meaning I'm always willing to try something new and shake things up a bit. But I agree with others who find this book to be unappealing. I would have liked to see the Dares undertaken by a wider variety of scrapbookers, not just "throw all the stuff I can find on the page and try to make it cool and urban hip." As a result, it is very trendy but won't necessariy make it to the "classics" section of a scrapbooker's bookshelf.

I have really enjoyed ths book s it challenges you to think outside of the box and create pages that are beyond just decorating. Lots of inspirational layouts which get you inspired to try something different.

The dares AND the layouts are wonderful! I really liked the fact that some of the layouts tell personal stories, gives me a little inspiration to open up. I would recommend this book to anyone open to new ideas!
