5 out of 5 stars Great Book!   August 4, 2008
This has been one of my favorite purchases. The cards are relatively easy to make and turn out beautifully. The instructions are clear and concise with lots of pictures.

4 out of 5 stars Very Cute ideas   June 27, 2008

I really liked this book. It has alot of really cute ideas, but I feel like there could have been MORE. Not sure what but just felt like it was missing something. I would definately reccommend this book to anyone interested in making cards or tags!

4 out of 5 stars Ideas more than instructions   February 18, 2007

This book has many ideas, but if you're more of a beginner, you probably won't be able to duplicate a lot of what you see. Still, as more of a beginner myself, I was able to mark several pages that I can go back to for ideas.

3 out of 5 stars Just Okay   June 26, 2006

This book was just okay for me. I thought it would have actual step-by-step instructions, but it seems it only contains pictures, and list of items used. It's okay for reference if you want to "copy" the card as best you can.

5 out of 5 stars WOW! Great Book for Tag and Card Ideas - Especially nice for Scrapbookers   February 22, 2006

I've been looking for a book that focused only on ideas for tags and cards. THIS IS IT! I am so excited and happy I purchased this book, sight unseen. Especially with the crafts books, I try to check them out of the library to make sure it is what I want, but the library did not have it yet.

Every page has something that inspires me to be creative with gift tags for my scrapbooking. I had hit a "scrapper's block" and even though I have plenty of scrap info books which show lots of pages, tags, etc., the depiction from those books were not what I had in mind. I wanted a book that showed various ideas for taking my scrap pages to another level. It's really a beautifully photgraphed book that shows all kinds of styles and projects. Everything from simple-classy (like the picture on the cover) to the more embellished tags using ribbon, raffia and other 3 dimensional objects. There are even templates in the back of the book. This book covers cards and tags of everything from birthday and seasonal items to invitations and holidays.

Each tag includes the designer of the tag and supplies used. One minor quibble is there are no specific instructions. The photos are so clear, I really don't think you will need step-by steps for most of the examples. There are a few exceptions where I think it would have been nice to know "how they did that." For example, on page 7 is a tag that uses a stamp and layered papers. The top stamped design is bordered by a wispy stringed edge. It was not clear if this was sewn on or glued. It also was not clear whether the edge was loose threads or some type of trim. In the supplies list, there is not a mention of any relavent product. For that reason I am giving this book a 4.75 for those VERY FEW projects that don't clear state the supply list or tell how it was created. The majority of the other projects in this book are clear and only a scant few could have been elaborated on.

If you can only afford to buy one tags book, this needs to be the one. I also bought Tags Reinvented by Erikia Ghumm, which is nice (see other review), but this book, "It's All About Cards and Tags" is far superior.
