A Very Different Home Improvement Book September 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not a very handy person, and have no desire to build a wing on my house by myself. That said, I AM what is known as a "Direct-It-Youselfer" - someone who likes to plan for and oversee OTHER PEOPLE doing the work. I was looking for a book that would help me understand the different home improvements jobs I was planning, hoping to understand the pitfalls and "tricks of the trade" in advance. Not really expecting such a book to exist, I was pleasantly surprised to find "My Home, My Money Pit" on Amazon. Whether you are planning work on your home or not, this is a book that you will enjoy reading and appreciate having as a resource on your shelf. I can't tell you how many times the information in this book has helped me plan for and execute projects both large and small, and I know that it has saved me a fortune and much grief. Any homeowner will find this a fun and informative read, but anyone even comtemplating a home improvement project NEEDS to read this book FIRST!

Bought this for my daughter (a single homeowner). She didn't have much to say about it.
