Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A highly recommended guide to Amsterdam   March 17, 1999
7 out of 7 found this review helpful

Lots of useful information is packed into this compact guide to Amsterdam, including a number of excellent maps. This guide contains relatively few illustrations, but this keeps it small and easily portable. As advertised, this book provides a thoughtful and comprehensive overview to getting around Amsterdam and discovering its numerous charms and simple pleasures. This guide is written in a refreshingly honest yet upbeat style--never overly chatty, cute, or condescending. Another advantage is that it is aimed at the American traveler rather than the British one, as often there can be a big difference in how cultural and practical matters are explained.
