Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars An accurate portrayal of a great man, on the field and now in life   February 9, 2008
I was a fan of NFL football when Earl Campbell entered the league. He was an amazing running back; he regularly ran over opponents rather than try to run around them. However, he paid a price for that style of play. Now, in his early fifties, he is unable to walk and in so much back pain that he cannot sleep in a bed.
This book, written for young people and covering his career up through his first two years in the NFL, is laudatory while being accurate. It describes Campbell as he was and still is, a talented man who gave it all he had when he stepped on the field.
