There can't be too many books about baseball players, in my opinion. This one tells almost unbelievable tales about some of the biggest clowns in baseball, including Charlie Grimm and Casey Stengel--Casey caught a ball once although he was invisible. And do you know why Babe Ruth would never lend one of his bats to a teammate? Or what made the Mad Russian (Lou Novikoff) a great hitter? Or...or...or...?
