Best Baseball Book May 24, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Macmillan Baseball Encyclopedia is simply the best source of information and statistics on baseball around. Other books like Total Baseball give the same information but none are able to deliver it with the clarity of Macmillan. For some reason this baseball bible hasn't been issued since 1997 and baseball is doing its fans a great disservice. Macmillan was the first and as of yet it is the best baseball encyclopedia out there. Even if you can only get a hold of the older editions i still recommend you purchase this concise, easy to read book. Just using it to reference the old time ball players that you always hear mentioned makes this book worth every penny. Once you read this book you'll never want to watch another baseball game without it in your reach. Highly recommended.
