Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Reports abound on the direct connection between how well kids eat and how successful they are at learning and competing in sports. But what should they eat? A nutritionist and an educator explain what to feed growing kids ages one to eighteen, including those with diabetes, food allergies, and AD/HD, to develop their maximum physical and mental potential. Meal plans and recipes showcase specific brain stimulating foods along with practical suggestions for preparing and serving brain foods (including snacks) that kids will actually eat.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, especially in today's age of rampant child obesity and media glorification of unhealthy foods.   September 3, 2007

Brain Food: Recipes for Success in School, Sports, and Life is more than a cookbook - it's a guide for parents to helping kids eat balanced diets of good nutrition. A blend of solid parenting advice and the latest nutritional science, Brain Food offers guidelines for preparing food for children of all ages, what attitudes to expect children to have toward food and how to instill healthy eating habits, recommended recipes for all three meals and sample meal plans, and much more. The suggested recipes include delicacies ranging from "Cereal Trail Mix" to "Cheese Spinach Noodles", "Barbecue Turkey Sloppy Joes", and "Peanut Ginger Pasta Salad." Each recipe also lists its prep time, and basic nutrition information concerning calories, fat calories, and percentages of fat, protein, and carbohydrates per serving. Highly recommended, especially in today's age of rampant child obesity and media glorification of unhealthy foods.
