Product Description The Texas Longhorns are a true football powerhouse and boast one of the proudest?and winningest?traditions in NCAA football annals. Texas Longhorns Football History A to Z is the first book that gives every orangeblood all the information they need to remember and celebrate this tradition. From the program?s inception in the 1890s to Bobby Layne to Darrell Royal and Earl Campbell to Vince Young and Mack Brown, it is all included in this one-of-a-kind book. Starting with the inaugural 1893 campaign (a 4-0 season), the book takes an in-depth look at each decade of the storied program. All-decade teams, rosters, photos, game-by-game results for each season, trivia, interesting facts, bios, and a ranking of the ten best games of each decade are all included. Further, the stories and anecdotes about the varied cast of Longhorn players, coaches, games, and fans will surprise even the most devoted of the Longhorn faithful. After reading Texas Longhorns Football History A to Z, fans everywhere will have a much greater knowledge of all that has happened on the Forty Acres.

Bought for a friend January 8, 2008 I bought this for a 'Horn for Christmas. Up in Norman, they still celebrate Christmas. I can't say that I read this book. I imagine much of the history of the Mac Brown era details the several beatings his Longhorns took from Oklahoma.
