Amazon.com This is a terrific resource for fantasy football pros and rookies alike. It kicks off with comprehensive information on how to get started in fantasy football, including tips on joining a league, starting your own league, putting together a team, preparing for draft day, and handling trades and transactions. The second half is devoted to evaluations. Player evaluations are organized by position and include rankings, stats, and comments. The Guide also provides complete team evaluations; depth charts; an off-season update on new coaches, injuries, and roster changes; a rookie report; detailed player stats from the 1998 season; and a week-by-week schedule for the 1999 NFL season. In addition, it allows you to mail in for a free draft-day update that gives final draft rankings, training-camp news, and more. The book is very straightforward, thorough, and easy to use--a valuable tool for plotting strategy! --Andy Boynton

Good for a novice FFL player. July 28, 1999 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Fantasy Football Guide, 1999 is a nice book for a novice FFL player. It is long on opinion and conjecture and very short on any projections or analysis based on any mathematical work. It really boils down to a slightly informed estimation of player worth and projections, seemingly based on 1998 statistics and author opinion, without any statistical analysis. This forces the reader to trust the author's opinions regarding FFL, rather than being able to understand the drivers (statistical or otherwise) behind his projections. The author does offer good draft strategies, and provides insite to the "gotcha's" of FFL. Good read for a novice. Don't waste your time if you are experienced.
Strategy and substance.....second to none! August 19, 1998 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Joseph's draft strategy is second to none and his player evaluations gives you all the player information you could possibly need to prepare for the draft. I have been in my fantasy football league for a number of years now and have been using Joseph's book as a guide for the past 3 years. His insight and analysis have been a tremendous help to me and have helped guide me to the best record in my league and championships. For a first time fantasy owner, this book is a must and for the more seasoned owner, it is the only draft guide you need. In addition, whoever said there is no such thing as a "free lunch" should get this book. The last minute update that Jospeh sends out is for FREE and is spectacular, worth the price of the book in and of itself.
One-stop shopping! This book has it all with no fluff. July 24, 1998 This is absolutely the best book out there for the fantasy fooball reader. The book is easy to understand and Korch has a proven track record. His picks for quality players have been right on in recent years and this year is no different. If you want to be prepared for draft night, you better throw that Charpentier book in the trash and pick up Korch.
