5 out of 5 stars Enough To Choke King Kong   May 16, 2007
This book has more history, stats, and information than any other book on basketball that I have ever seen. I enjoy going back in time to relive all of the seasons that I remember as a kid. The recap of all the seasons, playoff results, and finals scores are worth the price of this huge book. Well done.

This encyclopedia is perfect for sports enthusiasts everywhere.
The acquisition is complete and easily understandable. It contains important details about the following:

- standings, awards, all stars and the divisional semi-finals

The work contains full portraits of Joe Fulks-The Babe Ruth of
Basketball , as well as Wilt Chamberlain scoring and rebounds.
The volume is worth the price for serious students of basketball.

4 out of 5 stars "Martin Taragano's Basketball Book Review"   August 30, 2004

Total Basketball is a towering accomplishment and a wonderful addition to the basketball literature. It is currently the most authoratative single volume of 100+ years of basketball history on the bookshelves. It's readable and important and a significant contribution to past & present NBA glory; however, in numerous respects it's coverage is indeed parsimonious; for example, there's but a mere scattering of biographical information on the 3500+ professional players; myriad biographical entries explored in more vivid and analytical narrative depth would have more positively supplemented the standard statistical exhaustion of encyclopedic single-volume sports tomes of this nature. Nonetheless, TB is a winner.

5 out of 5 stars Best Basketball Book ever   July 10, 2004

This a must get for any stats fan of basketball. This has every basketball league that has ever played from Naismith time to the present time. Most books only have the NBA and maybe if you are lucky the ABA. I would give this 10 stars if they were available.
