In the late 1800s thousands of people from Newark, NJ enjoyed their Sundays at Olympic Park, one of NJis most beloved amusement parks, which drew millions of visitors over its 79-year history. Here, Siegel chronicles the evolution of Olympic Park from a den of hedonism & intoxication in the 1880s into a popular family entertainment site in the 1950s & 1960s. Year after year, the park expanded its attractions. Concerts, circus performers, harness racing, theater & opera performances, comedians, & magicians became perennial favorites. At its pinnacle, the park had roller coasters, bumper cars, Ferris wheels, & every feature of the modern-day circus, carnival, & boardwalk, as well as a grove & a swimming pool. Over 100 photos. This is a remainder book which is new and never used. It may have a remainder mark on the edge of the pages.

Olympic Park was more than an amusement park with a big swimming pool. It was an experience shared by countless people who had a personal and emotional attachment to it. This book brings back vivid memories and captures the essence of a time and place that will never be again.
