Book Description
Part sports book, part travel guide, The Texas Golf Bible is a witty, fact-filled handbook that is indispensable for making the most of any Texas golf experience.

Never before has there been so complete a guide to the fastest-growing sport in America's biggest sporting state. Weighing in at 800 pages, The Texas Golf Bible can find you a new spot for your regular Sunday afternoon game or help you plan a major golf pilgrimage through some of the Lone Star State's most picturesque regions. Extensively researched like no other book before, The Texas Golf Bible gives you up-to-date, detailed descriptions of over 900 courses and 420 Texas towns.

Eminently readable, The Texas Golf Bible also gives you: regional maps, mileage charts, non-golf adventures to accompany your travels, restaurants and accommodations, and entertaining essays such as Fishing, Hunting, and Golf, Camping and Golf, and Romance and Golf, to name a few.

Even without the golf information, this is the best travel book on Texas ever written!

5 out of 5 stars A Hymn to Texas Golf   April 24, 2005
This book is a hymnal to Texas golf, chapter-and-verse on everything from the finest resorts to the dustiest backroads 9-holers. Much more than just a dry recitation of course info, the Texas Golf Bible provides colorful comments on almost every one of the state's 1,000 golf courses. The perfect bathroom book, which is meant as a major compliment.

5 out of 5 stars great book   July 1, 2003

What a great book even for me, a golfer spouse! I love the fact that it includes details about the cities where the golf courses are, like shopping, dinning, and lodging. Excellent book for traveling the state (easy to follow directions) as well as for the golf information. I read one review on the website which was obviously written by someone who does not play or understand golf or enjoy traveling Texas. Mr. Stone has a terrific sense of humor displayed in this book. I would highly recommend it!
