Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
The original vision for Pinehurst included tennis and bridge and horseback riding--but no golf. There was hardly a reason for Pinehurst to even exist--there was no mountain or ocean or river or city or industry. Nonetheless, the infant resort sprouted wings in the early 1900s as one of the preeminent places to enjoy the game of golf. Its history and that of American golf are one and the same.

I gave this book as a gift to my parents who love visiting Pinehurst. My father sat down immediatly and read through it and loved it. I recommend it.
