The Women Who Raised Me: A Memoir By Victoria Rowell May 15, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a "can't put down" book. Ms. Rowell can almost be hear telling about her life and all of the people who became a part of it.. I would recommend this book for any foster children, foster parents, or those who work within the agencies who deal with child abuse or adoption, or any type of child placement.

I just finished reading this on Mother's Day. As the mother of a (Chinese) adopted daughter, I was greatly moved by this well written and moving account of the child and adulthood raising of this woman I know from television. I would recommend it to any woman who experienced drama and challenges in her childhood or as a mother.

I couldn't put the book down. Victoria Rowell did a superb job of sharing her life story and giving a glimpse of the foster care system. It was heart-warming to know there are some dedicated foster parents who give the kind of support Victoria received.

I found this book very informative as well as entertaining. Many books I have read regarding foster care have been horror stories!
Victoria writes extremely well and I have passed my book on to my daughter who loves her in "The Young and The Restless".
