5 out of 5 stars Another great title from Baseball Prospectus   May 7, 2007

Baseball Prospectus is the gold standard for baseball analysis. The stats are helpful, but I am especially enamored of the PECOTA projection system. This edition is much less plagued by typos than previous editions have been.

4 out of 5 stars Great Info, Easy Access   April 14, 2007
Awesome information, but should include win/loss predictions for each team. Player info is in-depth. A baseball/stats fan's dream come true.

5 out of 5 stars There's a reason we refer to it as "The Bible" on draft day   April 10, 2007

Baseball Prospectus is absolutely the most comprehensive pre-season product out there. Every year I buy a copy and use it as one of my main sources to prepare for our league's draft, and every year it guides me to a top of the league draft. The folks at BP do an amazing job of putting together this book. Every product claims to have "the most accurate projections for the upcoming season", but none of them ever claim to actually be accurate. That's like saying that you're the most accurate dart thrower because when you missed the board by only five feet, you were still closer to the bull's-eye than anyone else. Instead, BP is just plain accurate. They nail the most likely outcome of a player's season with astonishing accuracy. The commentary is witty and often disturbingly prescient. I never let March roll by without buying my copy and I dog-ear it all season, especially whenever a new kid gets called up from the minors.

This book is a must have for baseball geeks (like me) everywhere!

5 out of 5 stars Never a dull moment   April 10, 2007

The Prospectus remains the best book of its type, and its the only one that interests me. Their work has faults (in particular, their method for measuring defense is poor and should not be trusted, they have tended to overestimate the ease of finding competent talent in general and relief pitching in general), but their methods for measuring offense and pitching are sound and their projections provocative. I also like the way they frame their book; from the standpoint of management trying to field the best tean possible within the context of a given budget.

Get all your baseball statistics in this book as you prepare for the upcoming baseball season. It's perfect for anyone involved in fantasy leagues or who wants an in-depth look at players and teams.
