5 out of 5 stars Great book!   March 29, 2007

This book was extremely helpful in learning how to support the laboring mom. There were so many helpful resources to use. I will be taking this book to births with me for quick reference.

5 out of 5 stars Helpful Resource   March 24, 2007

The Birth Partner was a great book for anyone that wants to learn more about being a partner in the birthing/delivery process. I was a complete novice and found it so helpful to prepare me for my role in being a birthing coach for my friends home birth.

4 out of 5 stars Worth reading!   March 8, 2007

The only downside to the book is that it is not concise. That means, you will pretty much need to read it cover to cover. But, the information in there is extremely important for anyone supporting a soon-to-be mother. Well worth the money!

4 out of 5 stars Worth buying particularly for the price   January 20, 2007
This book was so cheap I had to give it a chance. It was worth a lot more though. The author did a great job of outlining labor. Moreover, of explaining what things a coach/partner can do to support the mom through each of these phases.

5 out of 5 stars We made it through an 80 hour labour because of this book   January 13, 2007

Yes, nearly four days of labour and 5 hours of pushing, and the arrival of our 6-week early, 5 pound baby boy occurred 100% naturally. We owe it to this book. I can say with certainty that if my husband had not read this book, our son would have most likely been born by c-section. He was my pillar, my strength, my inspiration. The techniques he utilized from this book throughout our lengthy, tiring labour were indispensable. During periods of extreme exhaustion and poor focus, he brought me right back to reality, ensuring the healthiest outcome for our family - a vaginal birth. My son is now a thriving toddler, and I thought it was important to go back and write a review for this wonderful book. I had read and browsed several birthing books, none of which were as helpful to BOTH my husband and I. Even if you've read it beforehand, make sure you put it on your list of things to bring with you to your birthing place. Prepare for and cherish your amazing birth experience!
