Very Griping - Couldn't put it down... December 11, 1999 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I highly recomend this to any sailor who is a blue water crusier or is thinking about it. Great detail and lets one know what can really happen out there.
I did not understand it!! March 2, 1999 6 out of 21 found this review helpful
I think the only person that should read this is a person that loves or knows a lot about sailing. Even though the decreption was good I got really comfusid in the good parts of the book. Anyone that doesnt like or has no clue about sailing should not read this book!!
It was great!! February 10, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked Rescue in the pacific becuase of the way Tony Farrington starts you with a great begning that really got me into the book. I think that the end was good but kind of sad. Even though it was sad it still was a great book.
Great read for sailors and non-sailors alike November 15, 1998 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A must read for any one setting off on a round the world sailing trip. Contains very valuable lessons for all would be sailors, especially in the Pacific area. Well researched and great writing - was like being in the storm it self. Once you start you can not put it down.
Very gripping, somewhat hard to follow at times. July 23, 1998 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great subject, good book, gripping at times with alot of action. However, I recommend reading the book over a short period of time. The auther did a nice job following the dozen or so boats involved in the storm "but" It was not easy to return to the book and recall your place following a short absence from reading it. I am a novice boater and was confused at some of the sailing terminology.
