Our Favorite Book March 28, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book has been on our Homeschool boockcase for the last two years. It is by far one of the favorites in our home. My son (10 years old) can tell us all about the beliefs of a people group without even opening the book. He will also pick a people group and make up his own stories and write them out. We bought this to use along with our prayer journal and devotions for our homeschool but it has been used for so much more. We now have Operation World by the same authors and are looking forward to exploring that next year.
Excellent for inspiring familes to pray and be mission-minded! July 8, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The book features a different country on every 2 page spread. The pages are nice and thick and glossy. Great color all over with lots of photographs. Beautiful layout.
Each country is briefly desribed with the geography, culture, relative dynamics and, most importantly, how you can pray for that nation. A must-have book in your library.
Homeschool curriculum companies that use this book are SONLIGHT and MY FATHER'S WORLD.
I highly recommend this book to any christian- children and adults will enjoy it!
(PS: the man that reviewed the 'book binding' above clearly received a defective book and should have returned it)
Good content, bad binding December 29, 2003 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
I just ordered this book for my wife for Christmas as a companion to Operation World. The content adds a more personal touch to the information in Operation World by allowing you to visualize some of the people and their culture. The only negative part was that the book was bound upside down and backwards. If you opened the book based on the direction of the cover you were looking at the end of the book upside down. Not really a big deal but a little annoying.
