5 out of 5 stars One of the Best!!   April 14, 2006

This is one of the best rubber stamping technique books I have come across. Unlike many other technique books, Nancy sticks primarily to dimensional and textural effects that can be created with stamps and ink on paper. There are a couple of projects devoted to stamping on other surfaces such as acetate or shrink plastic, but these are in the minority. For those of you who are interested in broadening your techniques for rubber stamp art you use to create cards, you will not be disappointed with this book. Nancy uses materials that are common to any stamper's stash--ink, stamps, watercolor crayons, glue gun, etc. You won't have to go searching for exotic, hard-to-find or expensive materials to complete the projects. I LOVE how the photos provide very clear step-by-step directions for each technique. I don't know if Nancy is the model for the photos, but I sure smiled when I saw how each stamp was heavily ink-stained and obviously well-loved and used!

5 out of 5 stars Must Have for Stampers   March 19, 2006

Nancy Curry has an amazing way of taking the ordinary and turning it into something spectacular. This is a must-have book for any serious stamper. Your friends will marvel at how you made your stamping projects. If you've been longing to design and create outside of the traditional stamping box, this book will provide the guidance.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Stampers looking for more.   January 16, 2006

As an instructor, professional designer and artist, I strongly recommend this book. The projects are well thought out, innovative and creative. Nancy Curry has shared her expertise throughout the pages and provided us, the readers, with inspiring samples. I encourage those that do buy the book not to read it through and then let it collect dust- use this valuable resource; play in your crafting area or studio and try the techniques out for yourself. You will take your stamping to another level.

5 out of 5 stars This is a Wonderful Book!   January 10, 2006

I belong to a Yahoo group and we used this book to do an online workshop and it was a wonderful experience. I learned so much. It gave me the opportunity to try all the techniques in the book. The title Texture Effects is perfect because you are doing techniques, many of them easy, that add wonderful texture and depth to your stamping projects. Rubber Stampers usually have an abundance of supplies that we sometimes don't use much. This is a wonderful book that gave me a chance to work with many art supplies I had on hand. Plus it gave me a chance to purchase and try some new things, like watercolors. I will continue to use these products and techniques in my future artwork. Nancy's resist techniques are my favorite!

5 out of 5 stars You want this book!!   January 10, 2006
This book is filled with wonderful techniques that are great for beginner to experienced stampers and everyone in-between. The directions are clear with good pictures and awesome examples. These are also techniques that you will use over and over again.
