Didn't Like It May 23, 2001 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
In this book the main characters were Sam, Davy, and Jackie. It was basically about that Jackie bacame a Brooklyn Dodger and became one of the world's greatest baseball player. Then this boy really became a fan of his. Jackie became really ill and sick ,and hit a home run for his best friend Sam. Jackie said "baseball will never be over". I will never ever recommend this book to a adult. If I ever did I would recommend this book to a child or a sportman. I think this book was the most boriest book I ever read. This book was held at Brooklyn Stadium and other places around Brooklyn.
You'll never be able to put the book down. November 1, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Filled with great memories March 6, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I grew up living across the street from Barbara Cohen, and she gave me a copy of Thank You, Jackie Robinson when it was first published. I recently found it again and quickly re-read the book. It is still a great story! Mrs. Cohen was always an inspiration to me, and now, as a writer myself, I have think the inscription she put in the front of my copy of this book was somewhat prophetic. She wrote, "I think [Sam] is a lot like you. He thinks a lot and understands more than he's willing to tell". My family and I all miss her.
The best Barbara Cohen book you'll ever read. September 22, 1998 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
