3 out of 5 stars Realistic? Ooookaaay   October 14, 2008
 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I had to laugh at the person who said this book had a realistic settting. So how many people you know live in caves? Work for a secret branch of the government? Walk into bars into a secret back room to witness vampires sucking the life out of three people? carry around silver knives strapped to their boots? And really, come on? Have you bothered to count HOW MANY knives they throw during a fight? It's absolutely absurd. This book is like a corney Bond's movie. Yet like the said famous corney movie, it does have a draw. I read it because it was strange and I enjoyed for the same silly reason, but I would not considered this excellent writing.

5 out of 5 stars Love the Characters!   October 3, 2008
Cat is your average girl-next-door, except for spending her evenings luring and killing evil vampires. One of those evil vampires raped Cat's mother; he was newly turned and therefore was able to impregnate her... with Cat. Cat's mixed blood explains her unusual strength and her special attraction to trolling vampires.

In the first book of the series, "Halfway to the Grave," Cat develops a relationship with a vampire called Bones. In this second book, they work together to tackle a criminal industry run by vampires - and local politicians - involving the kidnapping of young women.

The plot moves along well, and the characters are irresistible.

5 out of 5 stars 5++++++   September 11, 2008
I have read so many "3"s lately that I was shocked to find a "5". This book was fun and fast paced. The cover fit the book content perfectly. Fans of Kim Harrison, Charlaine Harris, and early Laurell K Hamilton, will like this book. I particularly liked that plot could be enjoyed without the romance details. However, if you are looking for romance, which I am not, there is still plenty of it in this book.

5 out of 5 stars Great Books!   September 10, 2008
I've read both of these books and absolutely loved them! I'm ready for book 3. Once you sit down with either one of these books, you just don't want to put them down. The story line is fun and easy to follow. It would be best to read book 1 before jumping right in to book 2.

4 out of 5 stars starting to mature   September 3, 2008
these books are starting to mature and get alittle more "meat" in them. They are having a solid story line and getting more interesting as they go on. Looking forward to the next intallment in the series.
