5 out of 5 stars Run Out and Buy this Book NOW!!   February 8, 2007

To see an experiencd writer place ALL the pieces necessary for a top notch contemporary romance in the EXACTLY perfect places makes this reader stand back in AWE. Then start smiling and re-reading the book immediately again because it's so darn good. Top notch Alpha male in great shape--not because of supernatural hoodoo--but because of his job as an "UltimateFight-style" lead character. To enjoy a smart, funny female who knows the fun of sensuality but also how to set limits & a secondary story that is simply "delish", perfectly set in characters and a funny, sentimental delight to read. I'm serious buy this excellenty book NOW and add to your keeper stack.

5 out of 5 stars Causing Havoc is a romantic gem   February 8, 2007

Causing Havoc by Lori Foster takes us to the fascinating world of extreme fighting. This book has everything I love in a Foster novel, family, friendship and smoking hot passion.

Dean Conor aka Havoc in the fighting ring receives a letter from on of his younger sisters. Camille is asking Dean to come home. Dean hasn't seen his sisters Cam and Jacki since he was nine. Dean always thought that when his uncle took him to live with him that the girls led a dream life with their aunt. His first night back home he meets a woman who stirs all his senses, Eve Lavon. As he is trying to start something romantic with Eve he realizes his sisters didn't have the life he thought they should have had.

Dean instantly fascinates Eve Lavon. He is unlike any man she has ever known. For a man of his size and strength, he is deeply tender and caring. Eve realizes underneath that " I am not a big brother stance" is a man missing the love of his sisters.

Dean and Eve's attraction is hot from the get go. Both go into this affair thinking short term but when danger threatens his family and Eve, Dean knows this is where he wants to be.

Causing Havoc is exceptional. Ms. Foster does an outstanding job of explaining the world of extreme fighting. It really helps to understand Dean and his world. I really like how Dean thought he didn't need his sisters but they worked their way into his heart and he became a big brother anyone would be proud to have. Dean and Eve do have a sizzling connection but their friendship is just as special. I am looking forward to more of these extreme fighters.

Dean "Havoc" Conor has returned to Harmony, Kentucky after getting a letter from his sister, whom he hasn't seen since he was nine years old. After the death of his parents, Dean was thrown from his home and everything familiar. Though he had a good childhood with his Uncle, Dean has never forgotten his two sisters, Cam and Jacki. Not used to having sisters, nor caring about anyone but his uncle, Dean is stand-offish at first. He soon realizes that when it comes to his sisters, he can't remain on the outskirts of their lives. The minute he arrives, Cam and Jacki treat him like he never left. He's pleasantly surprised by Cam's best friend, Eve Lavon, who he feels an instant attraction for.

Eve Lavon has never been as attracted to someone as she is to Dean. As she watches him fight his brotherly instincts, Eve starts falling in love; something she knows will hurt her. Though she can see what a good person Dean is, she knows that his career as an extreme fighter will take him away, even if he wanted to stay. As the days go by, Eve fall more and more in love with Dean. When strange accidents start to happen to him, she is doubtful of his claim that someone is trying to run him out of town.

Lori Foster does it again in CAUSING HAVOC. In her usual way, she brings the characters and their relationships to life, sucking you in until the last page. The romance between Dean and Eve is heart warming and sweet. While Foster doesn't do the usual "misunderstandings" between the h/h, she still makes it known that the relationship between the two is anything but easy. With the secondary characters of Cam and Jacki, the reader can't help but fall in love with these two women who have had such a difficult time. Add in some mystery and you have a book that you won't be able to put down. Don't miss CAUSING HAVOC!

5 out of 5 stars delightful combination family drama, romance, and a bit of a mystery   February 7, 2007

SBC heavyweight champ extreme fighter Dean "Havoc" Connor has learned to ignore pain, but not because of the devastating holds of opponents. His life lessons came when he and his sisters became orphans. He was separated from his siblings leading to his dependence on no one, growing up tough and refusing to take bunk from anyone.

Dean tastes havoc for the first time since his family was torn apart over two decades ago when he receives a letter from his sister Cam, whom he vaguely remembers as a small girl, begging him to visit her and his other sibling Jacki. Between fights, Dean travels to his hometown of Harmony, Kentucky where he meets a close friend of his sisters, sassy Eve Lavon. They team up to prevent Jacki from making a monstrous marital mistake, but when he tries to court Eve she rejects his advances. The octagon seems like a school playground compared with keeping his family safe and winning Eve's love.

Lori Foster is at her best CAUSING HAVOC with this delightful combination family drama, romance, and a bit of a mystery that all blends together into a wonderful contemporary. Though Dean and Eve are the lead characters, the changing relationship between the fighter and his sisters make the tale work as Dean wants to avoid entanglements, but Jacki and especially Cam will not allow him to do so. A secondary romance between Jacki and Gregor enhance the novel with apparently Dean's manager next on the fight (make that romance) card.

5 out of 5 stars Emotional, Romantic Read   February 6, 2007

Lori has written a potent story in CAUSING HAVOC. This story takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride, where you feel a myriad of emotions love, hate, sadness, protectiveness and humour.

Dean Connor, aka "Havoc" is a fighter with the SBC and a heavy weight champion. Twenty-one years ago, upon the death of his parents he is split up from his two small sisters and brought up by his Uncle. Over the years he has never heard from his family, it was like he never existed. When he receives a letter from one of his sisters, asking him to come and see them, he is torn with his feelings towards them. Anger is the first reaction, and since he has some down time between his fights, Dean decides to travel to Harmony, Kentucky to follow-up on the letter, because he senses something in the tone of the letter. When he lands in town he stops at the bar where he meets a hot number. As soon as they make eye contact across the room, there is enough heat between them to set off a roomful of Roman Candles. Eve Lavon, is Cam's best friend, but does not realize that the male that she is so taken with is her long lost brother. It is interesting to see these two opposites so attracted to each other that they can do nothing else but act upon it. The intertwining story of the secondary characters only add more dimension and depth to the story. Readers will be enchanted with the protectiveness that Dean feels towards his sisters and how hard he tries to fight it. A real treat is the way this alpha male is so inclined to act like a big brother, even though there has been so much time lapsed since he has had contact with his sisters. There is hurt, confused feelings, ups and downs, surprises and lots of heat between Dean and Eve, but through it all there is a sense of family, which only leads to a true "sigh" moment at the end.

This is a wonderful story, showing true family values win out. Lori proves that blood is thicker than water, and who says you can't go home. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to more.
