Easy to follow July 15, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Dr Keith is a well-known TV personality so when I happened to watch him promoting his book on a morning talk show I was tempted to turn the channel. But he was plain spoken and passionate about the topic of dealing with the reality of one's life and facing one's demons. I bought the book and must say although it is a difficult journey to face one's fears inadequecy's and failures--he gently guides you through the process without allowing for self deprecation but building strenght in oneself based on a foundation of truth. Highly recommend.

I found the book very helpful in getting to source of unresolved unconscious conflicts of the past. In uncovering what he calls our life story clues... Dr. Ablow is able to (with the help of the work book) take the reader to the past and then begin to understand the mystery of why we behave the way we do now. It help me to stop running and look directly at the Truth the life story clues unmasked and then discover the personal freedom that take place. It's what we truly desire. "Living the Truth: Transform Your Life Through the Power of Insight and Honesty" is an inexpensive way to get started down the road to the past. This book can improve the quality of anybody's life (no mater what you uncover) as it did mine... No Doubt.
Do You Really Need This? July 14, 2007 19 out of 35 found this review helpful
My husband and I are in our fifties, and both of us have had serious trauma (war, loss of children, near-fatal illness, etc.) in our lives. We've been safe in our relationship with each other for thirty years. But after reading and using this book, we both became anxious, began fighting, and I went into a depression deep enough to require hospitalization.
Before you decide to dig up your own past (especially if you've survived just fine leaving it buried or discarded or whatever), consider the possible consequences. Do you really want to dig up Mom and blame her for your current, adult issues? Did the way you dealt with food as a child really have anything much to do with the fact that pizza tastes good?
Please consider how badly you need to blame your past before delving into this book. It almost ended my marriage, made both my husband and I miserable, and ended up in our recycling bin.
Excellent Book July 14, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is one of the best psych books I have ever read. The parallels to my life were amazing. Try it you'll like it!
Eye opening and insightful July 10, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I must admit, until author friend Jerry L. Moore told me he had been invited to appear on the Dr. Keith Ablow TV show, I hadn't heard of him. After catching his show, I read his book and found it provided excellent thought-provoking insight that should help many people identify the suppressed issues within their lives and take action using Dr Ablow's strategies to assess and resolve them.
