5 out of 5 stars Real Time Fighting   November 15, 2000

This is one of the best books I have read. It is about real time fighting..the art of San Soo. I train under Master Dave Hopkins in Riverside in the art of San Soo, and this book's information has increased my fighting abilities. If you are not playing around..then get this book! ps..Dave says "Hi."

5 out of 5 stars Great book!   June 8, 2000

I got this book along with many others shortly after taking san soo classes. And of all the books I've read, this is the best written book on martial arts. It's clear and precise, and the techniques are VERY practical. It's unfortunate that san soo hasn't gotten too much exposure like the other forms of martial arts, because it can be utilize by a beginner effectively. I would recommend this book even if you are learning other forms of art.

5 out of 5 stars Background information and philosopy of Kung-Fu San Soo.   December 24, 1998

Master Greg Jones has a very solid and deep understanding of kung-fu san soo. It is evident in this well written and very articulate book on one of the most devastating martial arts currently taught to the public. Master Greg Jones ability to translate what he learned from the late Master Al Rubin into words is testimony to his knowledgable and extremely compentent training. This book will give the uninitiated to kung-fu san soo an excellent starting point on the art. This book is extremely useful for long time, experienced students of the art as a review and referrence manual. I bought this book in 1988 when it first came out, and have since read it five times. An excellent resource on the martial art of Kung-Fu San Soo!

5 out of 5 stars One great book!   December 2, 1998

One great book, i really like the part that it tells you both attack and defence combos. In the begining it tells how to, rather than you figuring it out for yourself. Thre are n rules in a street fight, no one is there to save when you do a whirl kick and miss. The best way to save yourself is to end it before it begins, and that is the essence of this, to brutally take out your oppoment BEFORE he gets the chance.
