Candid Look at a Motivating Master December 5, 1998 This book is not only an intriquing look at the approach of a master motivator, but just as important (perhaps even more) it gives insight into how she became that way. I wasn't necessarily a huge Summitt fan before I read the book and wasn't necessarily a tremendous one after reading it either. However in reading this book, I do have a incredible respect for her, her insight into the human psyche, and the principles that make her successful builder of teams and young ladies. Kudos to Sally Jenkins and Pat Summitt for a candid, informative book and a great read.
The best motivational book on the market today. November 6, 1998 As a long time fan of the Lady Vols..and a non resident of TN..it was great to have access at long last to the "secrets" of Coach Summitt's success. What a great motivator her book is..for business, sports, and life. Everything in her book can be used and applied to so many different areas we all encounter in our lifes. Best wishes to Coach Summitt and keep the inspiration for all of us!!
It really works! August 31, 1998 The day after reading this book: I woke up at 5:00 am, rode the bike around the block, and upon returning proceeded to paint the entire north side of the house. A job that had needed doing for nearly 4 years! Thank you Pat and Sally!
EXCELLENT FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL!!! July 22, 1998 First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on a successful season and on your teams championship. Reach for the Summit was a great inspiration to myself and my co-workers. It demonstrats leadership, confidence, and it is highly motivational. This book makes you think about who you are, where you come from and makes you re-evaluate your work ethics and whether you give it 100% everyday and whether you have room for improvement. As a competitor, athlete, and leader I appreciated the book. P.S. As a non-resident fan, I believe Pat Summit's coaching methods should be "emulated". Her student athletes graduate with a degree and her program is successful!!! If the student athletes are willing to work hard and give it all they have to reach for a goal that many dream of...NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS...and learn through the process, let it be. Once again, Congratulations!!
Excellent July 3, 1998 This is an excellent book. I nearly read the whole thing before I even left the bookstore. I'm sure I will read it many times over. It is inspirational and it makes me question myself when I want to give up. I have no excuses now. I am motivated. Highly recommended for those who want to succeed.
