Beautiful book and a great price! March 30, 2008 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
I love Bead Simple! With over 150 projects and technique instructions it's a great value. There are many beading books out there but Bead Simple feels fresh and modern. I especially like the range of projects offered from some of my favorite designers. What a great addition to my collection and and my craft room!
Bored Simple March 29, 2008 11 out of 51 found this review helpful
This book should have been called "Bored Simple." I own over 100 books on jewelry/beading, and this has to be the worst one I have ever seen. The techniques section is pretty good, but there are many other books with an as good or better techniques section, but the designs are much, much, better. The author uses ugly components such as rubber o-rings and cheap looking beads.
As a jewelry designer, I love to buy books to help the creative juices flowing, but I flipped through this book in about 2 minutes and found nothing. The designs look "home-made" not "hand-crafted." The designs, for the most part, are boring, ugly, and colorless.
I would not recommend this book to anyone.
Fun and Simple March 27, 2008 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
Beadsimple is a fun compilation of a bunch of my favorite crafters including Megan Nicolay, Jen Perkins, and the author Susan Beal. The projects are as the book promises, simple- perfect for beginners or beaders on the fly who are looking to make a fun colorful bracelet or a streamlined, minimalist necklace.
