This collage book is chock-full of ideas, examples, and text that helps you to give yourself permission to play, to experiment, and to come up with creative and unusual ideas of your own. There is a plethora of techniques covered, including fun things to do with text (which I especially liked), more than enough to keep me busy for a long, long time. It is staggering what can be done with collage, and "Collage Unleashed" does exactly what it promises---unleashes your imagination and gives you tools to explore with collage!
Highly recommended!

FINALLY, I HAVE FOUND THE COLLAGE BOOK I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR,(I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING THEM FOR YEARS). THIS APPROACH TO COLLAGE IS SO FREE AND FUN, ANYTHNING GOES. THE AUTHOR DOES NOT FOCUS ON BRAND NAMED PRODUCTS, WITH AN EXCEPTION OF A FEW OF HER FAVORITES. ANYONE CAN PICK UP THIS BOOK AND MAKE A COLLAGE WITH SIMPLE SUPPLIES, WHICH IS SOMETHING I REALLY APPRECIATE. NOT EVERYONE CAN SPEND BIG BUCKS TO "PLAY" AND EXPERIMENT UNTIL THEY FIND THE EFFECTS THE ARE LOOKING FOR. I ALSO LOVE HER IDEA OF WASTING NOTHING. SCRAPS, OLD ART, CLEAN UP PAPER TOWELS, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING HAS A PLACE IN HER ART. I HAVE BEEN TRUELY INSPIRED. I HAVE ALSO PURCHASED HER DVD "RETRO RAGS", ANOTHER WINNER! I CAN'T WAIT TO USE SOME OF HER FUN TECHNIQUES IN WITH MY ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS.

Last fall I attended the Art & Soul workshop where I was fortunate to take a class from Traci. In the midst of the dark, antique, old-fashioned, duo-tone world, Traci's work stands out like a flourescent yellow shirt, a gorgeous one!
Her workshop was fun and her lively spirit goes right along with her work.
Since returning home, I've incorporated Traci's ideas into all sorts of crafts projects. This is no staid, step-by-step process book, but rather a joyfun romp crammed with ideas and techniques.

This book is ok but I had expected to learn more from it. I would recommend it for beginners but not for those into more advanced techniques.
Perhaps I have gained more knowledge along the way than I realized I had but I learned nothing from this book and found a lot of the author's work similar to my own, though I had never heard of her before.
It is nicely illustrated though and the techniques she uses are explained.

I have 4 daughters that have not been able to put this book down. This book is Fantastic. I had to buy each one of them their own book because they just wouldn't share it.
