Each project that I've tried, steers you into a whole new dimension, and growth into your own artist soul. This is a fun how to do book, that you'll play with for a long while. .
A change in approach January 9, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm really enjoying this book, and I say "enjoying" because even though I've read it and tried some of the techniques, I keep coming back to it. I love the idea of saving every scrap of paper, doodle, your old artwork, and reusing them (or copies) in a new piece, in a different way. The pictures, techniques, and ideas are great. Even if your style is not as "loud" as Traci's you will get many ideas and techniques you can apply in different ways and make them fit your style. Definitely a keeper.
Love, love, love this book November 21, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book is so much fun - an explosion of color, texture and cool images. Every time I pick up the book, I notice something new. And when you read/look through the book, you actually feel like her methods are ones that you can do. Looking at a finished piece of hers may seem overwhelming, but she breaks it down into each component and gives you the freedom to create what you want to. I also like that she uses supplies that are not hard to find and are not expensive (crayons, paper towels, muslin, glitter pens...). She does include fabric examples, but you don't have to be able to sew to enjoy this book. I haven't sewn for years, and although this has made me excited about getting my sewing machine out again, I feel like I could create exciting art without it. And the more I look through her book the more original ideas I get of my own, which is very exciting to me. She has provided a springboard for my creative endeavors.

wonderful book with lots of ideas, great for anyone playing with mixed media, Traci fun style gives many suggestions on how to create art papers, dye paper towels and fun new techniques. This is a great reference, a how to and just plain fun to read. This is a keeper in my collection.
Unleash Yourself October 9, 2006 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
When I first got this book, it was soooooooo busy, I looked and put it down. Over then next week I read, re-read, read, re-read.......and fell into her wonderful world. The next thing you know I was doodling with silver marker on anything I could find. Had the German Shepherd puppy slowed down enough I would have doodled him. Then I doodled flowers over the doodling, then I painted the flowers, then I collaged the canvas....should I go on. I need a 12 step program for this book.
Run, don't walk---oh, that does not work anymore.....let your fingers fly over the keys to purchase this book.
It is amazing and inspiring.
