Creative Embellishments July 23, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Where does one start talking about a book that's chock full of ideas, photos and techniques that are "do-able", with supplies that the typical surface design artist already owns? Sherrill's use of mixed media is an inspiration. The combination of color and textures makes this a great addition to your reference library.
Just Plain Fun July 13, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book offers a variety of ideas that can be incorporated into art projects, scrapbooking, cardmaking and probably many more arts or crafts. It's just plain fun to read and then go back and zero in on specific areas that are of interest. I feel the book is meant to give your brain a nice creative jolt and start flying off with your own ideas of what to use with the stash you may have or incorporate some new ways of doing things with many items costing very little to give some new excitement to a project of any kind.
Inspirational June 18, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I now own two of Sherrill Kahn's books and I have found both books to be very informative and inspiring. She goes to great detail explaining the techniques she uses to make her lovely work, enabling the reader to enjoy new avenues of creation in fabric and paper surface design.
