Rectangle Pizzazz June 1, 2008 This book was really good; but, I had a lot of trouble understanding the instructions. It is not really clear and cut. I would definetly piece it out before putting it together.
Yes, it is fun and fast to do April 13, 2008 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Like most women, I'm really busy and I want projects that I can start and finish in a short period of time. Rectangle Pizzazz is a delicious quilting book that not only provides readers with fast, fun and easy quilting projects, it actually is user friendly and beginners will love it.
The author, Judy Sisneros, provides a brief overview of choosing fabrics and colors, discusses the tools you'll need, and throughout the book are helpful hints for making your quilting time much more fun, not to mention easier. The directions are easy to follow and the colorful photographs will keep the quilter on track. At the back of the book are easy directions for finishing a quilt. Follow them carefully and you'll be thrilled with what you've accomplished
If you quilt at all, you will have a `stash'. If you're like me, your stash could stock a quilting store. The patterns in Rectangle Pizzazz easily fit the stash of fabric you have on hand.
My personal favorite is "Curves Around the Rectangle." It's my first project from the book, and I have stacks of Asian fabric I've been aching to use. The focus fabric is going to be difficult as I have so many to choose from. Well, I guess that means more than one of my daughters will be getting a new quilt. I'm not sure if I can actually start and complete the top in a day, but I'm going to give it a good try.
Another fun quilt to try is "Rectangles on Point." The pattern catches the eye, the directions are easy to follow, and it actually looks like it is a fun, fast, quilt top to make.
Armchair Interviews says: If you love to quilt and are limited by time, Rectangle Pizzazz: Fast, Fun & Finished
everything I expected April 8, 2008 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Judy Sisneros' book was everything I expected. Pattern instructions and detail were very clear and precise. I enjoyed making my own versions of Blooming Rectangles and Rectangles behind Bars.
Beginners get an artistic hand up. March 12, 2008 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
This book is delightfully simple in method. You don't need to buy dozens of different fabrics to coordinate. You can easly do this on a beginners budget and time! If you fall in love with a topic or large scale print then it stays in your stash waiting, NOW is the time to pull it out and USE it. I'm trying to chew through my stash and get projects completed that will make great gifts that appear as though I spent FAR MORE TIME and ENERGY. Pick this book up and have a couple girl friends over for a mini workshop day!
