I just purchased this book and as usual Elissa Meyrich is an expert in her field. Not only is this book full of great sewing projects, but it is also full of great tips and techniques for sewing that are so useful since I am a professional fashion stylist. I'd recommend this book highly to any one who wants to have fun with sewing.
Sew Fast Sew Easy - Great For Beginners & Oldtimers, Too February 11, 2006 37 out of 60 found this review helpful
The pictures and instructions are clear and easy to follow. The text is well-written and does not talk down to beginners. In fact, I bought the book for my young teenage grandaughters who also think it is great! And, now that I have time to get back to sewing, I am finding the book a great refresher. Thank you Ms. Meyrich for giving us a great sewing aid and wonderful projects that the girls and I can have fun doing together.
AWESOME!!!!!! February 10, 2006 35 out of 66 found this review helpful
I brought this book because I wanted to make my own bags. I am making great bags now and even started selling some of them because of this book. I recently attended an event here in louisiana promoting the other book, RIP IT. I stopped by just to meet the company representative and thank them for the great books. I wish I could take their classes in new york city.
Sew Easy February 10, 2006 29 out of 51 found this review helpful
I bought this book and Rip It at the same time. I took it home and perused through the projects. It is simple enough for my teen niece to follow. She asked me very little questions while she did the skirt. She wanted the pattern modified a little so I worked with her on that...but overall, she was able to follow the directions as a first time sewer. I found it to be a very good investment because it keeps my niece very busy. She is now working on the pillow (she's doing 4 of them) to decorate her mom's couch. Hey...maybe all this creativeness may inspire her to become a designer...I know she's having fun and her enthusiasm is seeping towards her girlfriends. I'm glad I got this book! [...]
Great book for a new sewer October 16, 2005 43 out of 91 found this review helpful
This book is super for people who are just beginning to sew. The projects are great and build sewing skills. A must-have if you are just learning.
