4 out of 5 stars Great inspiration for crafters of all ages   July 4, 2006
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

I just wanted to echo that this book has many great ideas not just for reconstruction, but if you are a sewer I think it gives great advice for endless pattern variations on the basic T
( I don't know about you but I have a ton of basic T patterns). Don't be too put off if you think some of the things look too '80's. Some like the off the shoulder a la Flashdance shirt, the ripped brokenheart, and the leg warmers clearly are, but most of the designs depending on the color and material of the T you choose can easily look elegant and up to date. I would highly recommend Generation T and Tease to crafters of ANY age. I am 31 by the way and I will be making the scarf ace for my next hot date!

This is a great book with lots of fabulous, fairly easy ideas for transforming your favorite t-shirts.

5 out of 5 stars Purchased for my daughter-in-law   June 29, 2006

And she loves it. Almost bought one for myself, but these remodeled Ts are more suitable for a young woman than a woman "of a certain age".

4 out of 5 stars great bonus projects for sewing students   June 26, 2006

I used this book to encourage my Junior High students to recycle their old shirts. For the most part the directions are good but for some sizing became a bit of an issue. ( it is important that they read carefully what size shirt to use)

5 out of 5 stars INGENIOUS!!!   June 26, 2006

I love this book!!! I just bought it, and after looking through it all, I pretty much lost sleep over thinking about all the things I wanted to make. I made my first shirt yesterday from a large band t-shirt I had, which I never would have worn in public before because it was huge on me. I got tons of compliments on it, and I can't wait to make more. She makes the patterns very easy to follow, and you don't need to be an expert seamstress to do them...many don't even require sewing. I would say to use your common sense and double check on the measurements of things to make sure that they will actually fit you, though. You may have to do some adjusting from the sizes in the book. I think this book is a ton of fun, and it inspired me to start making up my own alterations too!
