If you never sew a stitch, you will still love this book. MaryJane is the real deal. She strives to give any buyer/customer a feast for the eyes, mind, hands and heart. The photography, the text and content in this book will take you on a wonderful trip to authenticity and farmgirl joy. Plus you will learn a lot, too! This book contains a treasure trove of "mid-century look projects", and a philosophy that brings great entertainment. It is true "MaryJane".
Can't wait to get started July 18, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a great project book. I can't wait to get started on some of the ideas I got from this book. Like all Mary Jane publications, it has great pictures a portrays a simpler time. Love it.
MaryJane's Stitching Room July 15, 2007 This is an interesting book for new sewers & crafters who need ideas. The projects are very folksy & hand-made looking. IF that is the look you want, then this book will be your cup of tea. It does have some interesting stories, such as teaching troubled boys how to crochet so they can learn to calm themsleves down & be productive.
Finally! An old fashioned crafts book! July 7, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I don't want to learn how to knit with dog hair or create modern, bizarre sculpture. I want to learn the traditional crafts, and now I have a book to help me! Hooray! Having read Maryjane's previous book, I knew I was in for a treat with this stitching book. Beautiful photos, detailed instructions, subjects that interest me. It's as if I were sitting with my Mother and she was telling me family stories while she was teaching me how to create beatiful gifts and items for my home. I can't wait to see what Maryjane comes up with next!
