Good beginning machine quilting book January 8, 2005 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
Machine quilting takes practice... This book presents the beginnner good exercises to start on the journey of learning how to machine quilt..however,if you have already done some machine quilting, and are not a brand new beginner, don't bother to buy this book..buy Harriet Hargrove's book, or Sue Nickel's book, or Diane Gaudynski's book to really help you in learning free motion quilting beyond the basics.
One of the First Books to Buy When You Start Quilting March 18, 2004 38 out of 38 found this review helpful
While this book is not for an experienced quilter, it is perfect for the first timer. This is a book to learn from and while it doesn't have many patterns, the ones it does have are quite good. The beauty of this book is that they have covered everything, even including a chart with every major thread type along with an evaluation of the thread use. The pictures are not elaborate yet they allow you to understand exactly what you need to. A good reference/source book with step by step instructions for all of the techniques.
Excellent. Very helpful book! September 3, 2002 80 out of 80 found this review helpful
I thought I could never learn to machine quilt, but this book lives up to its name--Machine Quilting MADE EASY. I bought it when it was new and refer to it over and over. There are easy-to-understand directions, fun exercises to practice on, and charts of needles that go with specific threads. The author is very encouraging that all it takes is practice and YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!
Easy instructions for the quilting impaired! April 21, 2000 171 out of 172 found this review helpful
I'm a self taught quilter who had almost given up on machine quilting! Ms. Nobles walks the reader through the process of various types of quilting patterns with step-by-step instructions. She privdes the reader with information on needle types, use of different threads. What I appreciated most was that the book encouraged me to continue to work on new techniques and not give up when I didn't master it the first time. This book has greatly enchanced my quilting skills!
