5 out of 5 stars Every Knitter needs a reliable text!!   June 8, 2007

I bought this book on the advise of an experienced knitter and I am
very pleased with this purchase. The instructions are will written and illustrated. She offers multiple techniques for knitting situations.
The book fits in my knitting bag and the spiral bind an added plus!

5 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE BOOK   May 12, 2007

Short and to the point: If you don't have this book, buy it. If your budget is small like mine, make a wish list and tell your family and friends it's in your wish list. OWN it.
A hearty thank you to Nancie Wiseman for writting this book!!!

5 out of 5 stars Beginner's Encyclopedia   May 9, 2007

Clear descriptions of many knitting techniques with great pictures. I just started knitting and was confused about some pattern's stitch descriptions. This book cleared them up. It is a closed spiral bound book, handy to keep open while practicing a stitch or method. It's worth buying for reference.

5 out of 5 stars Not just endings   April 16, 2007

I highly recomend this book. It has some of the clearest examples of how to get your finished project put together without the usual cursing and bleeding all over the yarn. Clear pictures, plain english information, very understandable instructions even to a beginner.

I will note, however, that you should look this book over before you START a project. many of the best finishing techniques mentioned in the book have to be set up at the beginning, by casting on an extra stitch, or ending each row a certain way. This is in no way a fault, but many people do not look at this book until the project has started, and it should be consulted during the planning stages.

5 out of 5 stars Great information source   January 21, 2007

Prior to buying this book, I abhorred seaming my knit pieces together because I feared my shoddy seaming skills would ruin the finished objects. I have found the seaming section in Wiseman's book to be extremely helpful and my seams look a lot more professional now. I do agree with other reviews that this book would be most helpful for intermediate knitters who are interested in polishing up their knitting techniques. The copy I own is spiralbound, so it can lay open easily on the table for me to look at while I knit.
