Best Wedding Planner Ever! March 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As the Mother-of-the-Bride living on opposite coasts from my daughter, I bought two of these books so my daughter and I could keep on track together. Never did I expect this book to be so complete. The list of questions to ask when speaking with the professionals is most helpful. "Brides on a Budget" and "Helpful Hints" in each weekly chapter were greatly appreciated, as was the chart of best months to visit the top honeymoon locations. My daughter's honeymoon may have been spent in a typhoon!
Sensible Wedding Planning January 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ms. Becker is a savvy and experienced wedding planner in the chic city of San Francisco...and you can benefit from her expertise by buying this book. She breaks down the basics ("How do I word my invitation?" "How do I put together my budget?"), in a way that is easy to understand and simple to follow. Whether you are marrying in your favorite aunt's backyard or a private estate your rented for an undisclosed 5 figures, this book is a worthwhile tool.
The one wedding planning book to own August 6, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am often asked by brides: "what is the one book that I should buy to help me with my planning?" This is it!
A logical plan with a logical timeline and explanations galore!! May 8, 2006 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This book came in the mail today and I love it!! It breaks the wedding details down into very do-able steps. The book takes the overwhelming task of planning a wedding and explains it in small tasks, week by week, and makes your "wedding vision" seem easy to achieve. It's obvious that the author has "been there, done that" many times for brides. Also there is a list of wedding websites in the back of the book.
A terrific planning guide April 17, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
"Countdown To Your Perfect Wedding" is both informative and easy to read. As an event designer, Joyce clearly has a passion for her craft, and she's also generous with information - in the spirit of an educator. Her thorough, well-organized approach - with a wealth of details - will eliminate misconceptions brides may have regarding planning their wedding. I was captivated by her description early in the book of an unusual asian wedding that she did. I only wish I had been able to photograph it.
