5 out of 5 stars Dr Gray   August 13, 2008
I like this book so much, that I am distributing it to friends and patients

1 out of 5 stars poorly written and pompous   August 12, 2008

Although he often tries to act humble, you get the feeling that Mr. Piper is actually quite self-centered and a bit arrogant. I was particularly turned off by his judgmental attitude toward non-Christians. I personally don't believe Piper actually saw Heaven. I think he never really died and was just hallucinating.

5 out of 5 stars Got Exactly The Book I Wanted   August 10, 2008
My son recently died and this book gave me comfort. I wanted him to be in peace and have some idea what he went through as he was dying. I liked that I may see him again. I truly needed that for my heath and survival.
I am thankful for the book and where God is in the auther's life.
Susan

5 out of 5 stars Powerful Story!   August 7, 2008
From Front Jacket:

"Don Piper, a young pastor with the three children, was on his way home from a conference when his car was crushed by a truck that crossed into his lane and hit him head-on. While his body lay lifeless inside the wreckage, Don experienced a joyous 'reunion' in heaven, where, amid awe-inspiring beauty, he was greeted by friends, relatives and a gathering of saints. Ninety minutes after the accident, as a minister prayed for him, Don miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of inexpressible heavenly bliss. But his faith in God was about to be severely tested as he faced an uncertain and grueling recovery. Don's honest emotion and vivid description make this an unforgettable read, particularly for anyone dealing with an injury or grappling with questions about life after death."

1 out of 5 stars No, no, no, no....   August 6, 2008

Just a bunch of silly religious crap (can I say crap?). Are we really suppose to believe that heaven conveniently fits all of the Christian expectations and that only good "Christians" get in??? The part that I thought was amusing was when he described heaven's "gates." Heaven's gates are as far as he could see in both directions and as high as he could see up. I thought, as I read, that his face was plastered against the dash and he could not move his head....so....he was most likely looking at the crushed dashboard....just a thought....
Save your money or buy "Conversations with god" if you want some sort of minor religious experience...
