5 out of 5 stars Hooray for the Sibley   April 10, 2007

My wife and I are avid birders, and living near a lake that attracts all sorts of species, this has become our constant companion for even an evening walk to the store. Excellent and indispensible.

5 out of 5 stars WOW! What a bird book!   March 21, 2007

I bought the book out of curiousity and wow, am I blown away! I have another bird book that was never very helpful. That one had photographs. This has wonderful detailed illustrations, maps and so much information on even the most minor birds to show up in North America. I had no idea there were that many birds!

A professional guide to birds of Eastern North America. It has all the good qualities a bird watcher should expect to be able to identify birds. I recommend this guide to all serious bird watchers!

The Sibley guide is often recommended by veteran birdwatchers as the top of the line. Excellent illustrations, well-organized, descriptions accurate, all in a easily carried format.

5 out of 5 stars Sibley's Best Field Guides   February 18, 2007
10 out of 10 found this review helpful

Recently moved from California to the East. Sibley's guide for Western North America was the guide my mentor in birding used the most, so I knew when I arrived at my new home that getting this guide for Eastern birds was a priority. I was not disappointed. It is my only guide for this area, and I have no need for an alternative/backup guide. It is very user friendly for novice birdwatching identification, yet challenges me to go deeper with my general bird knowledge. Strongly recommended to all birdwatchers, from novices to the experienced.
