Absolute must for new horse-lovers! October 5, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you're considering doing ANYTHING with a horse in it, get this book. It's by far the most complete book on basic horse health, stabling, activities, breeds, etc. (And I do mean "basic".) Would have been five-stars for a glossary.

My daughter wants us to buy her a horse. We didn't have a clue what to look for and this horse catalog gave us a thorough preview. We didn't fathom the expenses or the responsibilities of caring for a horse. An encyclopedic eyeopener that prepared us for reality.
excellent source of information March 23, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful

The Whole Horse Catalog September 9, 2005 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I have been preparing for some time to get my first horse, which I now have.
I have been doing tons of the reading, watching videos, asking questions of knowledgeable horse people, as well as hands on work with horses over the past few years. The information in this book is presented in clear and concise form that has proved, and continues to be, very helpful to me. Horse care and management requires such a vast range of knowledge. I highly recommend this book as a solid reference.
Great Book! March 22, 2005 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
I found this book quite comprehensive, filled with a lot of tips and information that I didn't know before, which makes it much easier for me to work with horses.
The book is filled with guides, and I would recommend it to anyone that is a beginner in this field.
