5 out of 5 stars The only baseball guide you will need   June 27, 2007
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

This book will explain all those baseball rules you never knew or thought you almost understood but weren't quite sure. It is nicely arranged to make it easy to find what you are looking for, and it has excellent illustrations to make things easy to understand. We love this book.

5 out of 5 stars Great reference!   May 17, 2007

I have now purchased a second copy of this book to give to a baseball-loving friend. In the past year, this field guide has been a much-used book for me. As I'm pretty new to the game, it has broadened my knowledge of baseball and answered questions that have popped up; it is a great source of information and the first place I'll go when I need clarification. Easy to read and use, I find it SO much better than the Baseball for Dummies book I bought at the same time. I only shell out money for reference-type books and this one has been a wonderful addition to my library!

5 out of 5 stars Far & away best book of its kind   May 10, 2007

I've bought enough baseball books to start a small library, but this is absolutely the best practical guide to the game that I've come across. Totally clear in both text and graphics (and certainly the best-looking book on the game), it's one of the few essentials for the fan or curious onlooker. Would make an ideal complement to a book on the culture & history of baseball, like The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract.

4 out of 5 stars Great for Baseball Fans   March 24, 2007

This rule book is perfect for armchair coaches watching a MLB game or parents in the stands of their son's little league game. It's easy to read with lots of diagrams and pictures. Even great for beginners.

5 out of 5 stars Baseball Field Guide   January 12, 2007

This is an excellent book, exactly what I was looking for. I looked at others in book stores but none were as comprehensive and well illustrated. Explanations were clear and easy to understand.
